A Classic Pattern of Type 1 Brugada Syndrome on ECG: A Case Report
نویسندگان
چکیده
Brugada syndrome is an inherited disorder characterized by a channelopathy of cardiac sodium, potassium, and calcium channel. The pathophysiology this not completely elucidated yet, however, most the reported cases are caused pathogenic alteration in SCN5A gene, leading to malfunction sodium channels. Several stressors well known unmask pathology including fever electrolytes imbalance. Three ECG patterns frequently described literature, type 1, 2, 3. However, only 1 pattern considered diagnostic appropriate clinical context. Therapeutic strategies can range from conservative medical management with antiarrhythmic medications Automatic Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (AICD) placement. Prompt recognition utmost importance since rapidly evolve into life-threatening arrhythmias sudden death. Here we present case 22-year-old male who presented after syncopal episode was found have setting Influenza A infection.

Brugada ECG pattern precipitated by acute pneumonia: a case report
Brugada type 1 ECG pattern is the hallmark for the diagnosis of Brugada syndrome which is a cause of sudden death due to ventricular arrhythmias. We present a case of a previously healthy young man who was admitted with productive cough with greenish phlegm and right-sided chest pain which was subsequently diagnosed as acute pneumonia. A routine ECG was done as part of his evaluation and showed...

متن کاملFlecainide challenge test: Predictors of unmasking of type 1 Brugada ECG pattern among those with non-type 1 Brugada ECG pattern
BACKGROUND Many subjects in community have non-type 1 Brugada pattern ECG with atypical symptoms, relevance of which is not clear. Provocative tests to unmask type 1 Brugada pattern in these patients would help in diagnosing Brugada Syndrome. However sensitivity and specificity of provocating drugs are variable. METHODS We studied 29 patients referred to our institute with clinical presentati...
متن کاملType 1 electrocardiographic Brugada pattern in a woman with Chagas disease: a case report.
A 56-year-old woman with well-documented Chagas disease was found to have a spontaneous type 1 electrocardiographic (ECG) pattern of Brugada syndrome. It is most likely that this characteristic ST-segment elevation is an unusual manifestation of the pathological changes in Chagas disease. This ECG pattern has been found with other cardiac pathology and has been reported to be induced in patient...
متن کاملA case of vasospastic angina presenting Brugada-type ECG abnormalities.
An electrophysiological study and a provocative test of coronary artery spasm was attempted in a 68-year-old man who was having syncopal attacks and chest pain. His electrocardiogram had the characteristics of Brugada syndrome and ventricular fibrillation (VF) was induced by programmed electrical stimulation. ST-segment elevation became exaggerated by procainamide, which could not prevent the i...
