A case report on cataract surgery in eyes with bilateral inferior iridoschisis

Purpose The purpose of the paper is to report a case bilateral inferior iridoschisis who underwent cataract surgery with intraocular lens implantation successfully help iris hooks or pupillary expanders. Design/methodology/approach A 71-year-old male presented in both eyes, history angle closure glaucoma (ACG), and shallow anterior chamber (AC) angles inferiorly. localized area stroma cleaved two atrophic portion disintegrating into fibrils from posterior stroma, muscle layer termed as iridoschisis. Iridoschisis rare condition associated fibrillary degeneration, narrow drainage cataract. Findings Preoperative postoperative ocular examination, including visual acuity, pressure degrees damage, was evaluated. Cataract performed under topical anesthesia flexible hooks. There were no intraoperative complications whereas marked corneal edema shown at immediate period but subsided completely weeks’ time. Visual acuity improved 20/60 20/25.
