A case of right parathyroid adenoma and its management

A 33 year old female patient presented with history of body and joint pain easy fatiguability unable to perform her routine daily activities since 2 months. She also gave recurrent urinary tract infections, abdomen, loss appetite weight. Examination neck showed no palpable mass. Laboratory data revealed elevated serum calcium levels parathyroid hormone levels. Contrast enhanced computed tomography well-defined soft tissue density lesion measuring 2.6×1.9×1.6 cm in the postero inferior aspect right lobe thyroid suggestive adenoma. Parathyroid imaging (SPECT) 99mTc-MIBI focal increased tracer uptake relation gland. NCCT KUB bilateral non obstructive renal calculi medullary nephrocalcinosis. Patient underwent surgical resection under general anesthesia histopathology confirmed Following surgery, gradually returned normal adenoma shows excellent prognosis complete resection.
