چکیده
A female patient had residual numbness and pain in the right half of body after intracerebral hemorrhage (capsular hemorrhage). After a 1-week trial spinal cord stimulation (SCS), Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) improved from 10 to 5 Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) 76 52. The was able lift her legs, 210-cm walking time 24.79 s 15.25 s, which highly satisfactory. One month trial, flared up gait worsened; thus, SCS implantation performed at request family. Pain have subsequently decreased range motion has increased. electrode implanted C4 other Th8. This case suggests that therapy may be useful for central post-stroke (CPSP) involves affect body.

Efficacy of Spinal Cord Stimulation for Central Post-Stroke Pain
Central post-stroke pain (CPSP) is a neuropathic-type of pain that affects about 1-8% of patients after stroke (Andersen et al., 1995; Bowsher 1993), and is characterized by pain and sensory dysfunction involving the area of the body that has been affected by the stroke (Leijon et al., 1998). Once present, CPSP rarely abates, causing a considerable long-term impact on patient’s quality of life ...
متن کاملSpinal cord stimulation for treatment of pain in a patient with post thoracotomy pain syndrome.
Post Thoracotomy Pain Syndrome (PTPS) is defined as pain that occurs or persists in the area of the thoracotomy incision for at least 2 months following the initial procedure. The true incidence of PTPS is hard to define as literature reports a wide range of occurrence from 5% to 90%. Thoracotomy is associated with a high risk of severe chronic postoperative pain. Presenting symptoms include...

متن کاملEffect of Spinal Cord Stimulation on Gait in a Patient with Thalamic Pain
Thalamic pain is a central neuropathic pain disorder which occurs after stroke. Its severe chronic pain is often intractable to pharmacotherapies and affects the patients' activities of daily living (ADL) and quality of life (QOL). Recently, spinal cord stimulation (SCS) has been reported to be effective in relieving the pain of thalamic pain; however, the effect of SCS on gait performance in p...
متن کاملNerve Injury Induced Pain and Modulation by Spinal Cord Stimulation
Chronic neuropathic pain caused by injury to or disease in the nervous system is relatively common and results in major suffering, poor quality of life and incapacity. Such pain is a therapeutic challenge because a considerable portion of the patients fails to benefit from pharmacotherapy. Therefore, there is a need for alternative treatment modalities. Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) has proven ...
