Chondroid syringoma diagnosed by fine-needle aspiration: a case report.

We describe a case of an 82-yr-old woman presenting with a thyroid nodule and axillary mass thought to be a metastasis. Fine-needle aspiration (FNA) revealed the axillary nodule to be a chondroid syringoma. We report here the cytologic features of chondroid syringoma and recommend the use of FNA in the evaluation of cutaneous and subcutaneous lesions in general.
