A capacity index to replace flawed incident‐based metrics for worker safety

چکیده
The shortcomings of incident-based metrics for worker safety such as total recordable incident frequency rate (TRIFR) are well documented. In particular, a low TRIFR is no assurance against legal liability. There considerable overlap between the literature on presence capacities to make things go well, and jurisprudence in labour workplace law employer due diligence. this article, authors propose an index that merges two, measuring acquire maintain knowledge, understand nature operations, resource safety, respond risks, demonstrate engagement compliance, assurance.

Models, Metrics, and an Index to Assess Humanitarian Response Capacity
The race to meet vital needs following sudden onset disasters leads response organizations to establish stockpiles of inventory that can be deployed immediately, without needing to rely on suppliers. These government or non-government organizations dynamically make stockpile decisions in isolation, and they do so without empirical metrics on how the stock will improve the response effort. To ad...

Not least among these is worker health and safety, which is linked to patient outcomes. Healthcare workers have a high risk of workplace injuries and more mental health problems than most other occupational groups. Man...
متن کاملCarbon monoxide transfer coefficient KCO (TL/VA): a flawed index.
In their recent "Perspective", HUGHES and PRIDE [1] described the carbon monoxide (CO) transfer factor (TL,CO) as the product of two primary measurements: alveolar volume (VA) and CO transfer coefficient KCO (TL/ VA). VA is primary in that it has a physiological identity. However, FORSTER [2] has pointed out that in the context of the measurement of transfer factor, the volume is merely that of...
متن کاملA Note on Runway Capacity Definition and Safety
The following is a discussion on the different aspects of the term capacity as well as a brief look at the commonly used capacity definitions in industrial and operations engineering in general and in Civil Aviation in particular. We maintain that quality factors (including more specifically here, safety) must be explicitly considered in runway capacity definition, and accordingly, we provide a...
