چکیده

Background: In conventional ultrasonography, the ultrasound image is not labeled with information on location or orientation of transducer. There also no parts body under examination. Objectives: This study aimed to investigate efficacy navigation-loaded including real-time transducer and inspection site, compared ultrasound. Patients Methods: After obtaining approval from institutional review board, 29 healthy adult volunteers were prospectively enrolled in this study. One gastrointestinal radiologist performed an abdominal ultrasound, using navigation convergence system, developed by authors. Subsequently, equivalent set was prepared. Three radiologists independently evaluated two sets for identifying target organ (two points), (one point). a two-week interval, images first analyzed, then, examined. The score differences between second evaluations Wilcoxon signed-rank test. inter-rater agreement three reviewers determined measuring Fleiss’ kappa value. Results: A total 1,402 acquired operator carefully selected 203 analysis. interpretation all significantly increased each examination analysis (reviewer A, 4.07 ± 1.56 4.79 0.69; reviewer B, 3.83 1.59 4.49 0.88; C, 3.43 1.60 4.19 1.01) (P < 0.0001). Conclusion: According results pilot study, technology can assist simple objective organs.

Biometric Navigation with Ultrasound

We have designed and demonstrated a new class of medical navigation methods that use the fingerprint-like biometrically distinct ultrasound echo patterns produced by different locations in tissue. As an example of this new biometric navigation approach, we have constructed and tested a system that uses ultrasound data to achieve prospective motion compensation in MRI, especially for respiratory...

Detection of colorectal cancer hepatic metastases with contrast-enhanced ultrasound: comparison with conventional B-mode ultrasound.

The aim of this study was to assess whether contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CE-US) could provide improved diagnostic information in detecting liver metastases from colorectal cancer as compared to B-mode non-enhanced ultrasound (B-US). 32 patients (M/F 23/9, age range 48-82 years, mean 58.2 years) under chemotherapy for colorectal cancer were examined with B-US and CE-US using a second-generation...

A Navigation System for Augmenting Laparoscopic Ultrasound

Establishing image context is the major difficulty of performing laparoscopic ultrasound. The standard techniques used by transabdominal ultrasonographers to understand image orientation are difficult to apply with laparoscopic instruments. In this paper, we describe a navigation system that displays the position and orientation of laparoscopic ultrasound images to the operating surgeon in real...
