A Bombieri-Vinogradov type exponential sum result with applications

We prove a Bombieri-Vinogradov type result for linear exponential sums over primes. Then we apply it to show that, for any irrational α and some θ > 0, there are infinitely many primes p such that p+ 2 has at most two prime factors and ‖αp+ β‖ < p−θ.

Some extended Simpson-type inequalities and applications

‎In this paper‎, ‎we shall establish some extended Simpson-type inequalities‎ ‎for differentiable convex functions and differentiable concave functions‎ ‎which are connected with Hermite-Hadamard inequality‎. ‎Some error estimates‎ ‎for the midpoint‎, ‎trapezoidal and Simpson formula are also given‎.

A Result of Vapnik with Applications

A new proof of a result due to Vapnik is given. Its implications for the theory of PAC learnability are discussed, with particular reference to the learnability of functions taking values in a countable set. An application to the theory of artificial neural networks is then given.
