Abstract Objective The sequelae of poor attachment and trauma on psychological social functioning is well documented, however, this complex relationship applied to a neuropsychological profile less understood. current case uses assessment further understand the brain-behavior in maternal attachment, multiple traumas, psychiatric comorbidities, adaptation. Method Patient 22-year-old, right-handed, Eastern European woman with fetal alcohol infant toxic mold exposure, failure thrive, neglect, adoption relocation United States (age four), posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD; reported sexual traumas bullying victimization), depression. Referred for evaluation longstanding inattention, learning difficulties, being socially emotionally withdrawn, suspected Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Results Data revealed average intellectual ability, dyscalculia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity (ADHD), PTSD, A self-report measure ASD strong perception ASD, characterized by inability read verbal cues or other’s emotions, communication self-expression, diagnosis was not supported formal behavioral observations; instead, it determined Reactive Attachment (RAD). Conclusions This provides an example interplay maternal–infant bonding coupled adolescent adult style compromised interactions. More specifically, addresses poly-etiologic impact insecure self-perceptions emotional withdrawal commonly seen ASD. stresses overlapping presentations RAD, ADHD, disabilities, comorbidities.
