A 4500-Year Tree-Ring Record of Extreme Climatic Events on the Yamal Peninsula

چکیده
Based on the analysis of frequency anomalous anatomical structures in wood Siberian larch and spruce (frost rings, light false as well missing narrow rings), we reconstructed a timeline climatic extremes (summer frosts, sharp multiday decreases air temperature during growing season, low average summer temperatures) Yamal (Western Siberia) over last 4500 years. In total, 229 years were determined to have experienced extreme events. The most significant recorded 2053, 1935, 1647, 1626, 1553, 1538, 1410, 1401, 982, 919, 883 BCE, 143, 404, 543, 640, 1209, 1440, 1453, 1466, 1481, 1601 1818 CE. These dates with extrema observed corrobarated tree ring data from other regions revealed several coincidences. That is, these years, appeared been global rather than regional scale. Moreover, coincided traces large volcanic eruptions found ice cores Greenland Antarctica, dated approximately same Therefore, cause cooling scale, cases, can be linked eruptions.

Missing Rings in Pinus halepensis – The Missing Link to Relate the Tree-Ring Record to Extreme Climatic Events
Climate predictions for the Mediterranean Basin include increased temperatures, decreased precipitation, and increased frequency of extreme climatic events (ECE). These conditions are associated with decreased tree growth and increased vulnerability to pests and diseases. The anatomy of tree rings responds to these environmental conditions. Quantitatively, the width of a tree ring is largely de...

متن کاملA 3,500-year tree-ring record of annual precipitation on the northeastern Tibetan Plateau.
An annually resolved and absolutely dated ring-width chronology spanning 4,500 y has been constructed using subfossil, archaeological, and living-tree juniper samples from the northeastern Tibetan Plateau. The chronology represents changing mean annual precipitation and is most reliable after 1500 B.C. Reconstructed precipitation for this period displays a trend toward more moist conditions: th...

Climate-related environmental and humanitarian crisis are important challenges in the Great Horn of Africa (GHA). In the absence of long-term past climate records in the region, tree-rings are valuable climate proxies, reflecting past climate variations and complementing climate records prior to the instrumental era. We established annually resolved multi-century tree-ring chronology from Junip...
