The crystal packing is stabilized by C-H⋯π inter-actions only, which form a C(7) chain-like arrangement along [110] in the unit cell.

The dihedral angles between the 3-nitro-benzyl-idene-amine and carbazole groups are 37.9 (1) and 37.0 (1)° in the two mol-ecules.
