7 - Towards the Institutionalization of Research Uptake Management in Sub-Saharan African Universities

This paper examines the process of research uptake institutionalization tak- ing place at universities in African context. It explores importance emerging concept Research Uptake Management (RUM) and provides a rationale for why it is becoming increasingly relevant within higher education sector, both inside outside Africa. In so doing, this proposes conceptual framework strengthening RUM capacity based on an in-depth analysis primary source material. unpacks exist- development needs across selection sub-Saharan region, how nascent stage developing practices are approaching uptake.
