چکیده

Abstract Background and Aims Acute kidney injury (AKI) in the elderly is a fairly frequent phenomenon that favored by functional changes impact of many chronic diseases whose incidence increases with age. This exposes this particular population to higher risk developing disease (CKD). The new CKD subjects has been estimated be 4 times without an episode AKI several studies. Our objective was identify factors Method retrospective descriptive study included patients over 65 years age for recovery normal renal function between January 2002 December 2015 who were followed up one year after discharge. In order achieve our objective, we collected data related patients' age, history, multitargeted or not, mechanism AKI, KDIGO stage, glomerular filtration rate (GFR) at hospital discharge, using pre-designed form. Results Among 93 18 had developed median delay 6.5±0.4 months. sex ratio 0.93 (M/F). 37% diabetics; 52 them 62 GFR < 60 ml/min 11 required extra purification. most important ARF pre (59.1%). studied (diabetes, hypertension, use ESRD, anemia, AKI) population, only hypertension statistically significant development AKI. Ten among hypertensive. Conclusion results suggest occurred often first following hence need close follow-up high-risk

Risk factors for the progression of chronic kidney disease after acute kidney injury.

INTRODUCTION The incidence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) is increasing with the increasing age of the population and the increasing number of elderly survivors of acute kidney injury (AKI). The risk factors for the progression of CKD after AKI are unclear. OBJECTIVE To investigate the association between AKI and its progression to CKD and the risk factors involved. METHODS An observationa...
