630 Cdk2: A marker for invasive melanoma

چکیده
Background: Although cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (CDK2) is known to be upregulated in certain cancers, its spatial expression pattern melanocytic tumors has remained unknown. Objective: To characterize CDK2 benign and malignant proliferations. Methods: We performed immunohistochemistry (IHC) on normal skin a tumor panel comprising over 200 congenital nevi, dysplastic melanomas situ, invasive melanomas. recorded their staining patterns, intensities, compared these of melanoma marker PRAME (Preferentially expressed Antigen Melanoma). Results: Serial antibody dilutions revealed that IHC reliably stains dermal-epidermal junction melanocytes both lesional non-lesional skin. Melanocytic nevi progressively lost the dermis (>90%), whereas retained strong aspects (>90%). were highly correlated melanoma. Conclusion: by deep dermis, suggesting putative role during melanomagenesis. Deep dermal positivity specific sensitive for melanoma, thus, may useful ancillary test diagnosing challenging tumors.

Targeting CDK2 overcomes melanoma resistance against BRAF and Hsp90 inhibitors
Novel therapies are undergoing clinical trials, for example, the Hsp90 inhibitor, XL888, in combination with BRAF inhibitors for the treatment of therapy-resistant melanomas. Unfortunately, our data show that this combination elicits a heterogeneous response in a panel of melanoma cell lines including PDX-derived models. We sought to understand the mechanisms underlying the differential respons...

متن کاملMicrophthalmia transcription factor: a specific marker for malignant melanoma.
The transcription factor microphthalmia (MITF) is required for the formation of normal melanocytes during embryonic development and for the expression of pigment cell-specific markers, which are the downstream transcriptional targets of MITF. It also seems to be crucial for the survival of malignant melanocytes. The special interest of this review is the possible utility of MITF as a marker of ...
متن کاملUrine Formaldehyde: A Non-Invasive Marker for Alzheimer’s Disease?
Although Alzheimer’s disease (AD) characterized by progressive deterioration in cognitive function was first described over 100 years ago, there is still no suitable biomarker for diagnosing AD in easily collectable samples (e.g. blood plasma, saliva and urine). Stroke patients often suffer from post-stroke cognitive impairment, or even from post-stroke dementia (PSD) [1]. Recently, excess form...
متن کاملPGP9.5 as a marker for invasive colorectal cancer.
PURPOSE AND EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN We proved recently that PGP9.5-negative pancreatic cancer patients had significantly better survival rates compared with those who were PGP9.5 positive, and PGP9.5 may be a novel marker for indicating the prognosis of pancreatic cancer patients. In this study, we examined the expression of PGP9.5 in primary colorectal cancers using immunohistochemistry and correl...
