612 Uterus Transplantation: An Overview

Abstract Introduction Uterine transplantation (UTx) allows women with abnormal uterine factor infertility (AUFI) to have their own biological children. UTx use both living and deceased donations (LD DD), once transplanted, embryos fertilised through IVF are implanted. The aims of this review summarise the history discuss ethical issues surrounding immunosuppression for a ‘life enhancing’ transplant. Method Data on UTx, clinical trials resulting births was found by conducting literature search PubMed other medical databases. Additionally, newspaper articles, institutional press releases conference proceedings were used as some data is yet be published. Results 72 been performed which resulted in 29 live births. first LD 2000 but removed due graft thrombosis. from DD achieved 2014 2017 respectively. Conclusions Live provide proofs concept UTx. Graft rejection, vessel thrombosis infection amongst reasons failure. Development an international registry important monitor progress all transplants long term determine its feasibility treatment AUFI.
