چکیده

Theabrownin is a heterogeneous polyphenolic compound, obtained from fermented dark teas, with many bioactive functions. However, the role of theabrownin in skin photoaging remains unclear. In this study, we investigated whether modulates ultraviolet B (UVB)-induced matrix metalloprotease-1 (MMP-1) expression HaCaT keratinocytes. exerted antioxidant properties, which resulted scavenging intracellular reactive oxygen species generated by UVB irradiation cells. Consequently, inhibited UVB-induced extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK), p38, and c-Jun N-terminal (JNK) phosphorylation, are activated oxidative stress. also suppressed downstream signaling pathway mitogen-activated protein (MAPK) nuclear accumulation activator protein-1 (AP-1), an essential transcription factor for UVB-stimulated MMP-1 expression. Based on these results, conclude that can serve as novel anti-photoaging compound skin.

Protective Effects of Lindera coreana on UVB-induced Oxidative Stress in Human HaCaT Keratinocytes

The present study was designed to investigate the protective effect of ethanol extracts from Lindera coreana leaves (LCE) on UVB-induced oxidative stress in HaCaT keratinocytes. The HaCaT cells were pretreated with LCE for 24 h and then exposed to UVB (20 mJ/cm2) for 2 h. UVB significantly decreased the cell viability (p

(-)-Epicatechin-3-gallate, a green tea polyphenol is a potent agent against UVB-induced damage in HaCaT keratinocytes.

(-)-Epicatechin-3-gallate (ECG) is a polyphenolic compound similar to (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) which is abundant in green tea. Numerous workers have proposed that EGCG protects epidermal cells against UVB-induced damage. However, little has been known about whether ECG protects keratinocytes against UVB-induced damage. We decided to investigate the protective effects and underlying...

Protective effect of fermented Cyclopia intermedia against UVB-induced damage in HaCaT human keratinocytes

BACKGROUND The fermented leaves and stems of Cyclopia intermedia are used to brew honeybush tea, a herbal tea indigenous to South Africa. The aim of this study was to evaluate the protective effect of fermented honeybush extracts (FH ex) and scale-up fermented honeybush extracts (SFH ex) against ultraviolet B (UVB)-induced damage in HaCaT keratinocytes. To this end, we examined UVB-induced cell...
