#5730 PERLECAN AS A POTENTIAL BIOMARKER OF CARDIOVASCULAR RISK: ROLE OF ENDOTHELIAL GLYCOCALYX IN CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE
نویسندگان
چکیده
Abstract Background and Aims Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is associated with cardiovascular (CVD). CVD in turn related to endothelial dysfunction, degradation of the glycocalyx (EG), releasing its components into bloodstream. The EG consists glycosaminoglycans proteoglycans, such as Perlecan. aim study analyse levels perlecan plasma different stages CKD, relate them age inflammatory monocytes, well their adhesion capacity (CD54/ICAM-1). Method An observational cross-sectional was carried out. 56 patients were included: advanced chronic (ACKD) (n=13), haemodialysis (HD) peritoneal dialysis (PD) (n=15) transplant recipients (TX) (n=15). Thirteen healthy subjects (CT) analysed. Plasma quantified using ELISA phenotyping monocyte subpopulations (classical (CD14++CD16-), intermediate (CD14+CD16+) non-classical (CD14+CD16++)), CD54 (ICAM-1) expression by flow cytometry. Statistical analysis: ANOVA Spearman correlation. Results Patients CKD had higher than participants (p-value = 0.044 vs ACKD, 0.028 HD 0.002 PD) (Fig. 1). These percentage classical monocytes (p=0,011) (p=0,009) (p=0,003) expressing ICAM-1 but not a per monocyte. Perlecan correlate negatively (p=0,03) (Table Conclusion PD have elevated compared CT TX. Elevated concentrations are increased on which important for possible role development atherosclerosis. may be postulated molecule interest assess damage patients.

Role of microRNA as a biomarker in Alzheimer’s disease
Introduction: MicroRNAs are small, non-coding, and protected RNA molecules that regulate gene expression after transcription by mRNA degradation or inhibition of protein synthesis. The function of these molecules is critical to many cellular processes, including growth, development, differentiation, homeostasis, apoptosis, aging, stress resistance. In addition, some diseases including cancer, a...
متن کاملCardiovascular risk in chronic kidney disease.
National Kidney Foundation guidelines define chronic kidney disease (CKD) as persistent kidney damage (confirmed by renal biopsy or markers of kidney damage) and/or glomerular filtration rate (GFR) <60 mL/min/1.73m2 for greater than three months. Patients with CKD experience higher mortality and adverse cardiovascular (CV) event rates, which remains significant after adjustment for conventional...
متن کامل10. Cardiovascular Risk in Chronic Kidney Disease
Burden of chronic disease throughout the world is steadily increasing. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) frequently coexist and represent a major challenge in today’s medicine. Although exact pathophysiological mechanisms are not fully understood, it seems that CVD and CKD can initiate, enhance, and perpetuate each other, eventually leading to vicious circle and prem...

15 صفحه اولRole of personalized medicine in cardiovascular disease: A narrative review
Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of mortality each year. Both environmental and genetic risk factors significantly influence the incidence and progression of these diseases. In recent decades, with the development of genetics and genome-determining tools, different genes have been found associated with numerous diseases. Determining these genes helps us to suggest a more effective ...
