425 Extra-Anatomical Detour Ureteric Stents: Our District General Hospital Experience of 50 Patients with a Minimum Follow Up of 6 Months

Abstract Aim Extra-Anatomical Detour Stents offer a viable modality of decompression particularly in the context malignancies; with absent need for changes stents, cosmetically better than nephrostomies and fewer admissions associated blockages/infections. Our aim was to assess safety feasibility performing detour stents district general hospital. Method A review prospectively collected data on all patients undergoing between 2016 2021 undertaken. This enabled possible follow up period 6 months, provided remained alive. statistical package utilised analysis data. Results Fifty were identified have undergone stent insertion malignancy being indication 90% cases. Seven required further eleven procedures most common due repositioning (36%) or change infection (27%). Four passed away within 60 days their procedure. had eventually replaced patient no longer resolution obstructive pathology. Nine are currently followed thirty-six from original cohort functional stents. Their median survival time post-procedure 164 days. Conclusions offers obstructing renal tract secondary quality life when compared nephrostomy. Continued caseload refinement surgical technique would lead optimised outcomes.
