چکیده
Aim. To evaluate the activity of 4-1BB/4-1BBL signaling pathway in patients with influenza A (H1N1) virus-associated pneumonia. Materials and Methods. Here we enrolled 85 (41 males 44 females, median age 48 (36-62) years) Among exclusion criteria were unstable hemodynamics, BMI > 30, diabetes mellitus, HIV, tuberculosis, cancer. Control group consisted 15 healthy donors. The diagnosis / H1N1 was confirmed by a positive PCR test. Pneumonia diagnosed according to Federal Clinical Guidelines «Community-acquired pneumonia adults». Severity evaluated using CURB-65 SMART-COP scales as well IDSA/ATS criteria. Plasma concentration 4-1BB (CD137 or TNFRSF9, an inducible costimulatory receptor expressed on activated T cells antigen-presenting cells) determined flow cytometry. Results. Patients moderate severe had 1.5- 2.4 fold-increased plasma 4-1ВВ compared controls. Conclusion. pathway, involved multiple immune reactions, is associated severity

OBJECTIVE To describe the characteristics of patients with influenza A (H1N1)-associated pneumonia treated at two hospitals in the region of Liguria, Italy, as well as to describe their treatment and outcomes. METHODS This was a prospective observational study including all patients older than 16 years of age with a confirmed diagnosis of influenza A (H1N1) who were admitted to Villa Scassi H...
متن کاملAcute eosinophilic pneumonia associated with 2009 influenza A (H1N1).
Acute eosinophilic pneumonia (AEP) is a cause of acute respiratory failure, and differs from other eosinophilic pneumonias by its acute onset, presence of fever and acute hypoxaemia. Cases of 2009 influenza A (H1N1) virus infection have included rapidly progressive lower respiratory tract disease resulting in respiratory failure. We describe the case of a young patient who showed dyspnoea, feve...

BACKGROUND The first human infections with influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 virus were confirmed in April 2009. We describe the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of influenza A(H1N1)pdm09-associated pneumonia deaths in Thailand from May 2009-January 2010. METHODS We identified influenza A(H1N1)pdm09-associated pneumonia deaths from a national influenza surveillance system and performed detai...
متن کاملMyocarditis associated with 2009 influenza A (H1N1) virus in children.
Sir, The very interesting articles reporting characteristics of hospitalised patients with 2009 influenza A (H1N1) encouraged us to write this commentary letter. In the main cohorts of 2009, H1N1 adult and paediatric patients published to date, no viral myocarditis has been reported. However, a large number of patients required intensive care unit admission and mechanical ventilation for acute ...
