The building energy balance is strongly influenced by the heat transmission losses through envelope. This justifies growing effort to search for innovative and high-performance insulating materials. 3D printing process, also known as additive manufacturing, already used in various industrial applications thanks its ability realize complex structures with high accuracy. It represents an emerging still poorly explored field world of “building physics”. aim this work present design, realization, analysis phases a 3D-printed thermal block. performance block was performed via theoretical experimental approaches. testing phase conducted using Hot Box specially built purpose, which allowed have known, repeatable, steady conditions. phase, based on infrared thermography technique flow meter method, preliminary evaluation performance. Moreover, implement concept circular economy, internal cavities were filled different recovered waste materials: polystyrene wool. results obtained shown, although preliminarily, potential manufacturing
