3D genomic organization in cancers

نویسندگان

چکیده

Background: The hierarchical three-dimensional (3D) architectures of chromatin play an important role in fundamental biological processes, such as cell differentiation, cellular senescence, and transcriptional regulation. Aberrant 3D structural alterations often present human diseases even cancers, but their underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Results: structures (chromatin compartment A/B, topologically associated domains, enhancer-promoter interactions) key roles cancer development, metastasis, drug resistance. Bioinformatics techniques based on machine learning deep have shown great potential the study genome. Conclusion: Current advances genome expanded our understanding tumorigenesis development. It will provide new insights into precise diagnosis personalized treatment for cancers.

3D nuclear organization and genomic instability in cancer

To understand the genetic changes that occur at tumor initiation and during tumor progression, we focus on changes in nuclear architecture that promote the onset of genomic instability [1,2]. To determine changes in nuclear organization, we measure the 3D nuclear organization of telomeres, the ends of chromosomes. The measurements of telomeres allow one to trace the positions of chromosomes in ...

The 3D organization of chromatin explains evolutionary fragile genomic regions.

Genomic rearrangements are a major source of evolutionary divergence in eukaryotic genomes, a cause of genetic diseases and a hallmark of tumor cell progression, yet the mechanisms underlying their occurrence and evolutionary fixation are poorly understood. Statistical associations between breakpoints and specific genomic features suggest that genomes may contain elusive “fragile regions” with ...

genomic organization of leishmania species

leishmania is a protozoan parasite belonging to the family trypanosomatidae, which is found among 88 different countries. the parasite lives as an amastigote in vertebrate macrophages and as a promastigote in the digestive tract of sand fly. it can be cultured in the laboratory using appropriate culture media. although the sexual cycle of leishmania has not been observed during the promastigo...

Genomic alterations in mucins across cancers

The significance of mucins in cancers has led to the development of novel biomarkers and therapeutic agents against cancers. Despite significant advances in the understanding of mucins, systemic investigations into the role of mucins in cancer biology focusing particularly on the histological subtypes and stages, along with other variables, are yet to be carried out to discover potential novel ...
