چکیده

Recent studies have shown that the microbiota during early years of an individual’s life is affected by mode release childbirth, differing between caesarean section and newborns born vaginally. Here we reported selection nomadic lactobacilli for development a multi-strain probiotic gel to promote lactobacilli-dominated vaginal in pregnant women establish proper eubiosis new-born. Lactobacilli, mainly isolated from food sources, were screened functional characteristics capability inhibit Streptococcus agalactiae Candida albicans, which may lead adverse pregnancy-related outcomes. A total ninety-five strains (Lacticaseibacillus paracasei or Lactiplantibacillus plantarum) auto-aggregation, hydrogen peroxide production, hydrophobicity, lactic acid isomers quantification. Cell-free supernatants (CFSs) candidate also co-inoculated with pathogens high-throughput inhibition screening. The best performing vitro, alone combination, on SkinEthicTM HVE model, evaluate reduction expression genes (interleukin-8, interleukin-6 tumour-necrosis factor alpha) involved inflammatory cascade. We found production was strain-dependent, highest concentrations L. paracasei. plantarum produced both acid, while Lb. only L-isomer. Hydrophobicity auto-aggregation higher than 50% observed respectively 25% 86% all strains. S. strongly inhibited wide range CFSs, whereas C. albicans less frequent. Two showed Overall, had pathogen score traits.

Vaginal lactobacilli as potential probiotics against Candida SPP.

Urogenital infections affect millions of people every year worldwide. The treatment of these diseases usually requires the use of antimicrobial agents, and more recently, the use of probiotic lactic acid bacteria (LAB) cultures for the management of vaginal infections has been extensively studied. In this work, 11 vaginal lactobacilli isolates, previously obtained from healthy patients, were st...

Characterization of oral lactobacilli as potential probiotics for oral health.

INTRODUCTION Intestinal lactobacilli have been successfully used as probiotics to treat gastrointestinal disorders, but only limited data are available for the probiotic properties of oral lactobacilli to combat oral diseases. We aimed to characterize oral lactobacilli for their potential probiotic properties according to the international guidelines for the evaluation of probiotics, and to sel...

Characterization of the adherence properties of human Lactobacilli strains to be used as vaginal probiotics.

In the present work, the adhesion of 43 human lactobacilli isolates to mucin has been studied. The most adherent strains were selected, and their capacities to adhere to three epithelial cell lines were studied. All intestinal strains and one vaginal isolate adhered to HT-29 cells. The latter was the most adherent to Caco-2 cells, although two of the intestinal isolates were also highly adheren...

Urogenital Lactobacilli Probiotics, Reliability, and Regulatory Issues

Of the hundreds of Lactobacillus so-called probiotic products, only a handful contain identifiable strains that have any published data supporting their usefulness in humans. Of these, Lactobacillus rhamnosus GR-1, Lactobacillus fermentum RC-14, and Lactobacillus fermentum B-54 possess antipathogen properties and colonize the intestine and vagina, conferring health benefits to women. These stra...
