چکیده
Abstract Aim Prostate artery embolisation (PAE) is an approved treatment for men with lower urinary tract symptoms secondary to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH-LUTS). Evidence of efficacy PAE in patients who are unable void urine spontaneously scant, however. Traditional treatments BPH-LUTS have evidence retention and this series aims report outcomes catheterised patients. Method The records consecutive which required either indwelling bladder catheter or clean intermittent self-catheterisation (CISC) subsequently underwent were retrospectively reviewed. Basic demographics collected along information on the prostate volume procedure specifics. primary outcome was whether catheter/CISC free at 3 months. Other include complications, use medications need other surgical post-PAE. Results 63 between 2013 2020. Of these, 7 a unilateral aberrant anatomy. mean 128ml. 61% from post-treatment. 4 suffered post-PAE UTI, whilst Transurethral Resection following failure become free. 13 entirely medications. Conclusions results similar catheter-free rate post several more invasive BPH treatments. It has low side-effect profile gives poor health option try should be discussed catheters as option.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a recessive genetic disease characterised by impaired muco-ciliary clearance. Although the disease affects multiple organs, 85% of mortality results from lung pathology relating to persistent recurrent infections, an exaggerated inflammatory response and progressive airways obstruction which ultimately leads to respiratory failure. The main symptoms are abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) in abscense of any other causes, pelvic pain and secondary infertility. There are several techniques described for the correction of isthmoceles. Isthmoplasty can be performed by hysteroscopy, lapar...
متن کاملMidterm outcomes of embolisation of internal iliac artery aneurysms.
OBJECTIVES There is no standardised technique for internal iliac artery aneurysm (IIAA) embolisation and results of long-term prevention of rupture are unknown. DESIGN We retrospectively evaluated technical aspects and results of IIAA embolisation in a multicentre study. METHODS Aneurysm morphology and embolisation techniques were reviewed. Aneurysm-related death, rupture, diameter increase...
