300 mA LDO Using 0.94 μA <i>I<sub>Q</sub> </i> With an Additional Feedback Path for Buffer Turn-off Under Light-Load Conditions

This paper proposes a 300 mA low-dropout (LDO) regulator using an I Q of only 0.94 μA, which has the advantage minimizing power consumption in standby mode battery-based system. The LDO uses source follower buffer with dynamic biasing to maintain loop stability and load transient response performance. Under light-load conditions, enters fully-off state because there is sub-nA bias current. Therefore, dual output operational transconductance amplifier (DO-OTA) for operation under conditions. second DO-OTA forms additional feedback path instead buffer. designed consume current lower than while operating. Furthermore, above 5 xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">L . While operating, used as DO-OTA. impedance characteristics its main output, so can secure conditions by lowering DC gain. As result, exhibits performance up minimal no-load condition. based on 180 nm bipolar-CMOS-DMOS (BCDMOS) process covers area approximately 256 ×143 μm 2 measured μA condition maximum mA.
