چکیده
2,5-Furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA) is a valuable compound that can be synthesized from biomass-derived hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF), and holds great potential as promising replacement for petroleum-based terephthalic in the production of polyamides, polyesters, polyurethanes used universally. However, an economical large-scale strategy HMF lignocellulosic biomass yet to established. This study aimed design synthetic pathway yield FDCA furfural, whose industrial has already been artificial consists oxidase prenylated flavin mononucleotide (prFMN)-dependent reversible decarboxylase, catalyzing furfural oxidation carboxylation 2-furoic acid, respectively. The prFMN-dependent decarboxylase was identified isolated strain, Paraburkholderia fungorum KK1, whereas Methylovorus sp. MP688 exhibited activity oxidase. Using Escherichia coli cells coexpressing these proteins, well prenyltransferase, could produced via one pot.

Production of furfural from xylose at atmospheric pressure by dilute sulfuric acid and inorganic salts.
In this paper, the dehydration of xylose to furfural was carried out under atmospheric pressure and at the boiling temperature of a biphasic mixture of toluene and an aqueous solution of xylose, with sulfuric acid as catalyst plus an inorganic salt (NaCl or FeCl(3)) as promoter. The best yield of furfural was 83% under the following conditions: 150 mL of toluene and 10 mL of aqueous solution of...
متن کاملSelf-sustained enzymatic cascade for the production of 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid from 5-methoxymethylfurfural
Background 2,5-Furandicarboxylic acid is a renewable building block for the production of polyfurandicarboxylates, which are biodegradable polyesters expected to substitute their classical counterparts derived from fossil resources. It may be produced from bio-based 5-hydroxymethylfurfural or 5-methoxymethylfurfural, both obtained by the acidic dehydration of biomass-derived fructose. 5-Methoxy...
متن کاملToward biomass-derived renewable plastics: Production of 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid from fructose
We report a process for converting fructose, at a high concentration (15 weight %), to 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA), a monomer used in the production of polyethylene furanoate, a renewable plastic. In our process, fructose is dehydrated to hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) at high yields (70%) using a γ-valerolactone (GVL)/H2O solvent system. HMF is subsequently oxidized to FDCA over a Pt/C cata...
متن کاملThe Effect of Delignification Process with Alkaline Peroxide on Lactic Acid Production from Furfural Residues
Furfural residues produced from the furfural industry were investigated as a substrate for lactic acid production by simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (SSF). Alkaline peroxide was used for delignification of furfural residues to improve the final lactic acid concentration. The residue was treated with 1.3% to 1.7% hydrogen peroxide at 80 °C for 1 h with a substrate concentration of...

Vitamin B12 is utilized as an essential cofactor in a wide range of enzyme-catalyzed reactions. Most of the enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of this complex macromolecule have now been identified and biochemically characterized.1 Cobyric acid synthetase (CbiP) from Salmonella typhimurium catalyzes the ATP-dependent amidation of adenosyl-cobyrinic acid a,c-diamide (I) at carboxylates b, d, e...
