چکیده
Photonic Crystals (PhC) are periodically structured dielectric materials that have been subject to extensive research efforts over the last two decades. PhC known for slow-light phenomenon, which increases interaction time between light and target gas, thereby enhancing sensitivity when applied sensors. Slow is best realized using three-dimensional (3D) with a complete photonic band-gap (PBG). However, they inherently difficult fabricate planar microfabrication techniques. In this work, we present two-photon polymerized (2PP) stereolithographically fabricated 3D targeting mid-infrared (MIR) spectroscopic range. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) was performed on two-dimensional (2D) waveguide (PhCW) analyze significance of PBG slow properties. Additional FEA conducted validated experimentally PhC. The ability tune desired wavelength along their repeatability feasibility demonstrated. This letter presents first, our knowledge, 2PP stereolithography operating at wavelength.

Enabling Thermoreversible Physically Cross-Linked Polymerized Colloidal Array Photonic Crystals.
We physically cross-linked a thermoreversible poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) hydrogel (TG) within a crystalline colloidal array (CCA) to form an enabling photonic crystal material. The TG consists of a physically cross-linked network formed in a process reminiscent of the well-known freeze-thaw physically cross-linking process, but which avoids solvent freezing which invariably disorders the CCA. Th...
متن کامل3D Wire mesh photonic crystals.
We have investigated the electromagnetic properties of a 3D wire mesh in a geometry resembling covalently bonded diamond. The frequency and wave vector dispersion show forbidden bands at those frequencies n0, corresponding to the lattice spacing, just as dielectric photonic crystals do. But they have a new forbidden band which commences at zero frequency and extends, in our geometry, to , 12 n0...

The surface of monodisperse silica particles synthesized using the Stober process were coated with a thin layer of polystyrene. Surface charge groups were attached by a grafting polymerization of styrene sulfonate. The resulting highly charged monodisperse silica particles self-assemble into crystalline colloidal arrays (CCA) in deionized water. We polymerized hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) a...

The mid-infrared (IR) wavelength region (2–20 μm) is of great interest for a number of applications, including trace gas sensing, thermal imaging, and freespace communications. Recently, there has been significant progress in developing a mid-IR photonics platform in Si, which is highly transparent in the mid-IR, due to the ease of fabrication and CMOS compatibility provided by the Si platform....
متن کاملSingle photon nonlinear optics in photonic crystals
We coherently probe a quantum dot that is strongly coupled to a photonic crystal nano-cavity by scattering of a resonant laser beam. The coupled system’s response is highly nonlinear as the quantum dot saturates with nearly one photon per cavity lifetime. This system enables large amplitude and phase shifts of a signal beam via a control beam, both at single photon levels. We demonstrate photon...
