Abstract Aim The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect minimally invasive surgery over open for hallux valgus with respect surgical outcomes and patient reported outcomes. Method Medline Complete, PubMed, Cochrane Library, Scopus, SAGE Journals gray literature were searched. Primary focused on angle, intermetatarsal distal metatarsal articular angle. Secondary Outcomes included American Foot & Ankle Society Score (AOFAS), as well Pain a Visual Analogue Scale(VAS), satisfaction, complications, SF-36 questionnaire Manchester Oxford Questionnaire (MOXFQ). Results Conclusions 8 randomized trials 7 cohort studies identified (n=907). Radiological between similar techniques found have no significant difference pre-post operatively at final follow up. analogue scale scores be significantly lower in MIS groups compared (MICA v Scarf) short term Day 1 (P<0.00001) MD= -1.96 95% CI: -2.28, -1.65; I2 = 0%; Week 2 (P=0.001) -1.40; -2.26, -0.54; 6 (P=0.005) -1.50; -2.55, -0.45. Adolescent hallux valgus: a systematic review of outcomes following surgery

PURPOSE The management of adolescent hallux valgus (AHV) remains controversial, with reservations about both conservative and surgical treatments. Non-operative management has a limited role in preventing progression. Surgical correction of AHV has, amongst other concerns, been associated with a high prevalence of recurrence of deformity after surgery. We conducted a systematic review to assess...

Prevalence of hallux valgus in the general population: a systematic review and meta-analysis

BACKGROUND Hallux valgus (HV) is a foot deformity commonly seen in medical practice, often accompanied by significant functional disability and foot pain. Despite frequent mention in a diverse body of literature, a precise estimate of the prevalence of HV is difficult to ascertain. The purpose of this systematic review was to investigate prevalence of HV in the overall population and evaluate t...
