1,3-Butadiene Production Using Ash-Based Catalyst

The production of 1,3-butadiene from ethanol was carried out using ash as a catalyst in combination with Zr and Mg. catalytic experiments were at 350–400 °C different weight hourly space velocity (WHSV). catalysts that used combined follows: Ash, Ash:MgO (weight ratio 1:1), (1:2), (1:3), Ash: MgO/ZrO2 (1:1:1). characterization the BET, SEM, XRD, TGA, XPS, respectively. yield bare 65% 400 2.5 h−1 WHSV. Using (1:2) led to an conversion rate 79 % 350 °C; selectivity 48% 87.8 %, Ash:MgO(1:3) 25% 82% °C. Ash:MgO(1:2) had 50% 83%, Ash:MgO(1:1) 30% 80%, while Ash:MgO/ZrO2 (1:1:1) 90.8%
