چکیده
Abstract Introduction Research on the relationship between physical activity (PA) and female sexual dysfunction (FSD) is lacking. Objectives To investigate clinical, psychological, correlates of PA in women with FSD. Methods A non-selected series n=322 pre- post-menopausal patients consulting for FSD was retrospectively studied. Regular involvement its frequency (<1 hour/week: sedentary, 1-3 hours/week: active, 4-6 very >6 extremely active) were investigated a specific question. FSDs, including HSDD (Hypoactive desire disorder) FGAD (Female genital arousal disorder), diagnosed according to structured clinical interview. Participants underwent examination clitoral Doppler ultrasound, asked complete Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), Distress Scale-Revised (FSDS-R), Body Uneasiness Test (BUT), Middlesex Hospital Questionnaire (MHQ). Results At multivariate analysis, engaging (67.4%, n=217) scored significantly higher several FSFI domains - desire, lubrication showed lower distress resistance arteries, as compared sedentary women. significant, inverse association observed. Mediation analysis demonstrated that negative partly mediated by body image concerns (BUT Global severity index), psychopathological symptoms (MHQ total score) (FSDS-R score). These latter two factors also reduced risk FGAD, whilst BMI full mediator FGAD. Finally, extreme associated worse scores psychosexual parameters (i.e. satisfaction histrionic/hysterical symptoms), even lifestyle. Conclusions In FSD, better function vascularization, odds FGAD; benefits sexuality both psychological organic determinants; excessive related poor overall low satisfaction. Disclosure No.

Hyperoxemia – too much of a good thing?
While avoiding hypoxemia has long been a goal of critical care practitioners, less attention has been paid to the potential for excessive oxygenation. Interest has mounted recently in understanding the clinical effects of hyperoxemia during critical illness, in particular its impact following cardiac arrest. In this issue of Critical Care, Dell'Anna and colleagues review available animal and hu...
متن کاملGlyphosate: Too Much of a Good Thing?
Although previously accepted as the less toxic alternative, with low impact on animals, farmers as well as consumers who are exposed to residues in food, glyphosate chemicals are now increasingly controversial as new evidence from research is emerging. We argue that specific aspects of the history, chemistry and safety of glyphosate and glyphosate-based herbicides should be thoroughly considere...

When the dimension of meaning that is relevant to the identity is one of evaluation, people want others...

It sometimes seems that there are too many academic scientists. I’m sure you know the feeling — it tends to emerge when people you think are not up to scratch get grants, or occupy lab space that you’d like for yourself. But I feel the same way when I consider the enormous numbers of scientific papers that nobody cites and which, therefore, presumably nobody reads. Governments and charities are...
متن کاملPhysical activity: can there be too much of a good thing?
I t is widely acknowledged that physical activity in some way, shape, or form is beneficial to a person's health, a concept that has been around for >2 millennia, having been first espoused by Hippocrates: " Eating alone will not keep a man well; he must also take exercise. " 1 Therefore, it should come as no surprise that in this issue of Circulation, Armstrong and colleagues present findings ...
