چکیده

Abstract Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) is a potentially lethal chronically relapsing autoimmune bullous disorder with intraepithelial lesions affecting the skin and mucous membranes. The prediction of clinical relapse has been studied conventional biopsy plucked hair direct immunofluorescence (DIF; Daneshpazhooh M, Naraghi ZS, Ramezani A et al. Direct for evaluation immunologic remission in PV. J Am Acad Dermatol 2011; 65:173–7) which can be use timing treatment withdrawal helping better management. aims our study were to determine association root DIF positivity status at baseline within duration, correlation between DIF. Seventy-eight consecutive patients diagnosed PV on therapy, minimal therapy or off included after obtaining informed consent. Three-monthly follow-up was carried out 12 months. Immunological monitoring done repeated every 3 months 1 year experienced, whichever occurred earlier. Conventional performed baseline, time relapse. In receiving adjuvant during their present episode, discontinuation inclusion, 6 months, occurrence relation point assessed. Of 78 patients, 22 had disease 56 remained complete remission. Clinical duration significantly more frequent who higher mean Autoimmune Bullous Skin Disorder Intensity Score preceding active episode (P = 0.033), pruritus 0.007) early (within inclusion) concomitant 0.007). parameters associated IgG 0.005) C3 0.047) hair, greater intensity (IgG, P 0.002; C3, 0.033) specimens 0.004; 0.0.002), positive 0.017). Plucked reliable technique assess immunological are helps guide according status.

Comparison of Direct Immunofluorescence of Plucked Hair and Skin for Evaluation of Immunological Remission in Pemphigus

BACKGROUND Pemphigus is a chronic autoimmune bullous disorder characterized by autoantibodies directed against desmoglein 3 and/or 1. Demonstration of intercellular deposition of IgG on the cell surface of keratinocytes by direct immunofluorescence (DIF) of the skin is the gold standard in the diagnosis of pemphigus. Recently, DIF of plucked hair demonstrating intercellular deposition of IgG in...

Evaluation of clinical and histopathologic/direct immunofluorescence diagnosis in autoimmune vesiculobullous dermatitis: utility of direct immunofluorescence.

OBJECTIVE Autoimmune bullous diseases are heterogeneous diseases and the differentiation between the various bullous disease is important for treatment and prognosis. Direct immunofluorescence microscopy is still the gold standard in differentiating these diseases. Our aim was to determine the diagnostic accordance between clinical and histopathological/direct immunofluorescence diagnosis of pa...

The importance of direct immunofluorescence in pemphigus herpetiformis diagnosis*

Pemphigus herpetiformis is an autoimmune bullous disease, that combines clinical features of dermatitis herpetiformis and linear IgA bullous dermatosis and immunological characteristics of pemphigus, which makes this disease peculiar and this diagnosis rarely suspected in the first evaluation of the patient. The reported case is of a patient with clinically bullous disease similar to dermatitis...

Diagnostic value of direct immunofluorescence of mucosal and skin biopsy specimens on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded biopsy specimens compared to specimens placed in normal saline as the gold standard method in the diagnosis of a group of autoimmun

Background and Aim: Direct immunofluorescence (DIF) is represented as a gold standard method in diagnosis of autoimmune blistering dermatoses. Normal saline, liquid nitrogen and michel’ solution are a widely accepted media for preserving biopsy samples of skin or mucosa before DIF examination. Occasionally clinicians put the biopsy specimen taken for DIF in formalin 10%, occasionally clinicians...

Oral pemphigus vulgaris: A case report with direct immunofluorescence study

Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) is a chronic, autoimmune, intraepidermal blistering disease of the skin and mucous membranes. The initial clinical manifestation is frequently the development of intraoral lesions, and later, the lesions involve the other mucous membranes and skin. The etiology of this disease still remains obscure although the presence of autoantibodies is consistent with an autoimmune ...
