چکیده
1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC), a precursor for ethylene, stimulates the switch from vegetative to sexual reproductive phase in marine red alga Pyropia species. This study explored effects of ethylene biosynthesis inhibitors on reproduction gametophytes yezoensis gain functional understanding role ACC as plant hormone algae. Here we show that two synthesis higher plants, 2-aminoethoxyvinyl glycine (AVG) and aminooxyacetic (AOA), had no effect growth gametogenesis P. yezoensis. In contrast, exogenous application ?-aminoisobutyric (AIB), structural analog blocks conversion induced formation spermatangia carpospores similar manner ACC, without endogenous accumulation. The treatment AIB failed inhibit production gametophytes. present results suggest mimics induce support our previous has regulation independent ethylene.

Characterization of an Eukaryotic PL-7 Alginate Lyase in the Marine Red Alga Pyropia yezoensis
BACKGROUND Alginate lyases belonging to polysaccharide lyase family-7 (PL-7) are the most well studied on their structures and functions among whole alginate lyases. However, all characterized PL-7 alginate lyases are from prokaryotic bacteria cells. Here we report the first identification of eukaryotic PL-7 alginate lyase from marine red alga Pyropia yezoensis. METHODS The cDNA encoding an a...
متن کاملThe First Symbiont-Free Genome Sequence of Marine Red Alga, Susabi-nori (Pyropia yezoensis)
Nori, a marine red alga, is one of the most profitable mariculture crops in the world. However, the biological properties of this macroalga are poorly understood at the molecular level. In this study, we determined the draft genome sequence of susabi-nori (Pyropia yezoensis) using next-generation sequencing platforms. For sequencing, thalli of P. yezoensis were washed to remove bacteria attache...

The [2,2-2H2]and [2,2,3.3-2H4]ACC compounds were prepared from the appropriately deuterated 2-bromoethanol 4-methylbenzenesulfonates by reaction with ethyl isocyanoacetate and two moles oE sodium hydride. متن کاملThe nature of O2 activation by the ethylene-forming enzyme 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid oxidase.
Ethylene is a plant hormone important in many aspects of plant growth and development such as germination, fruit ripening, and senescence. 1-Aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC) oxidase (ACCO), an O2-activating ascorbate-dependent nonheme iron enzyme, catalyzes the last step in ethylene biosynthesis. The O2 activation process by ACCO was investigated using steady-state kinetics, solvent is...
متن کامل1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC) in plants: more than just the precursor of ethylene!
Ethylene is a simple two carbon atom molecule with profound effects on plants. There are quite a few review papers covering all aspects of ethylene biology in plants, including its biosynthesis, signaling and physiology. This is merely a logical consequence of the fascinating and pleiotropic nature of this gaseous plant hormone. Its biochemical precursor, 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (...
