abstract deviation or in other words committing a crime is literally a social problem. this research that was conducted in 1389 and 1390 has tried to investigate the causes of crimes committed by young male inmates qazvin central prison and effective variables on their tendency to deviation. accordingly after collecting theoretical framework and offering theoretical model including both hirschi’s social control theory and merton’s structural pressure theory, hypothesises of the research were determined. utilizing survey method and by the use of questionnaire, information was gathered from a sample consisting 111 inmates between ages 19 to 29 in qazvin central prison. the method of sampling in this research was general counting of statistical community and available sampling method. the results obtained from testing hypothesises revealed theres a significant relation between factors such as attachment to family. social mobility, economical class/status and tendency to committing crimes. while there was non-significant relation between participating in daily activities, commitment to job and employment, bout to social goals, attachment to social foundations and the rate of crimes. finally the diagram of correlation between the variables showed that the most correlation with the dependent variable belongs to social mobility(0.197), attachment to family(0.118), and social economical status(0.27).
