the effect of the presence of perforations on he stresses of a plate is a problem which is of great interest in structural design and in the mathemattical theory of elasticity. among the many hole patterns that are likely to require consideration is the ring of equally spaced circular holes. the present worke investigates stress & strain analysis of a thin isotropic circular plate containing a ring of equally spaced holes under a uniform heat and a pressure perpendicular to it . in the first chapter the theory of thin elastic plate is explained & elastic deformation equations is derived . in the second chapter the theory of finite element method for the elastic deformation of a plate is explained. circular plates containing a set of ring holes are modeled by a finite element program called supersap. the third chapter analysis is utilized from the work of howland , who derived a special set of harmonic functions which allowed the boundry conditions in outer and inner boundry of plate to be defined . in the fourth chaper , numerical results form the final element method are presented by a set of curves & deformed geometry of the models.
