Let $mathcal{A}$ be a unital Banach algebra, $mathcal{M}$ be a left $mathcal{A}$-module, and $W$ in $mathcal{Z}(mathcal{A})$ be a left separating point of $mathcal{M}$. We show that if $mathcal{M}$ is a unital left $mathcal{A}$-module and $delta$ is a linear mapping from $mathcal{A}$ into $mathcal{M}$, then the following four conditions are equivalent: (i) $delta$ is a Jordan left de...

As an alternative to the Khalimsky topology, the topology w on the digital plane Z2 was introduced by the author of this note who also proved a Jordan curve theorem for it. In the present paper, another Jordan curve theorem for the topology w is proved determining a large variety of Jordan curves in the topological space (Z2, w).
Many authors have studied the local dynamics of holomorphic maps in C around a fixed point; see, for example, [4; 6] for an introduction to this field and known results. Most of the results are obtained under the assumption that the linear part of the map at the fixed point is diagonalizable. There are few results in the nondiagonalizable case. In [8], Coman and Dabija studied a special map wit...

Velásquez and Felipe recently introduced quasi-Jordan algebras based on the product a / b = 1 2 (a a b + b ` a) in an associative dialgebra with operations a and `. We determine the polynomial identities of degree ≤ 4 satisfied by this product. In addition to right commutativity and the right quasi-Jordan identity, we obtain a new associator-derivation identity. Loday [1, 2] defined an (associa...
The bio-solubilization of Jordan phosphorite by the phosphate-solubilizing fungus Aspergillus niger has been investigated. The effect of the phosphate concentration in the liquid medium, the duration of biodecomposition, titratable acidity and the effect of preliminary mechanical activation on the process of dissolution have been studied. The investigations indicate that almost complete extract...
we have devided the thesis in to five chapters. the first recollects facts from purely algebraic theory of jordan algebras and also basic properties of jb and jb* - algebras which are needed in the sequel. in the second chapter we extend to jb* - algebras, a classical result due to cleveland [8]. this result shows shows the weakness of jb* - norm topology on a jb* - algebera. in chapter three, ...
In this note we give an index theory for Toeplitz operators on the Hardy space of the Shilov boundary of an arbitrary bounded symmetric domain. Our results generalize earlier work of Gohberg-Krein and Venugopalkrishna [12] for domains of rank 1 and of Berger-Coburn-Koranyi [1] for domains of rank 2. Bounded symmetric domains (Cartan domains, classical or exceptional) are the natural higher-dime...
We construct an explicit set of generators for the finite W -algebras associated to nilpotent matrices in the symplectic or orthogonal Lie algebras whose Jordan blocks are all of the same size. We use these generators to show that such finite W -algebras are quotients of twisted Yangians.
