sliding mode control (smc) is a powerful approach to solve the tracking problem for   dynamical systems with uncertainties. however, the traditional smcs introduce actuator chattering phenomenon which performs a desirable behavior in many physical systems such as servo control and robotic systems, particularly, when the zero steady state error is required.  many methods have been proposed to el...

In this paper, the speed tracking for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) in field oriented control (FOC) method is investigated using linear proportional-integral (PI) controller, sliding mode controller (SMC) and its advanced counterparts. The advanced SMCs considered in this paper are fuzzy SMC (FSMC) and sliding mode controller with time-varying switching gain (SMC+TG) which can effec...

This paper addresses the problems caused by an inappropriate selection of sliding surface parameters in fuzzy sliding mode controllers via an optimization approach. In particular, the proposed method employs the parallel distributed compensator scheme to design the state feedback based control law. The controller gains are determined in offline mode via a linear quadratic regular. The particle ...

Both Soft computing based controllers and sliding mode controllers have been utilized to regulate the output voltage of dc-dc converters in response to changes in the load and the input voltage. Although both control techniques possess desirable characteristics, they have disadvantages which prevent them from being applied extensively. Many researchers have proposed the combination of sliding m...

The paper presents a super-twisting sliding mode (STSM) regulator with neural networks (NN) of direct power command (DPC) for controlling the active/reactive power of a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) using a two-level space vector pulse width modulation (2L-SVPWM). Traditional DPC strategy with proportional-integral (PI) controllers (DPC-PI) has significantly more active/reactive power r...

Second order sliding modes are used to keep exactly a constraint of the second relative degree or just to avoid chattering, i.e. in the cases when the standard (first order) sliding mode implementation might be involved or impossible. Design of a number of new 2-sliding controllers is demonstrated by means of the proposed homogeneity-based approach. A recently developed robust exact differentia...

This paper presents a robust control scheme for distributed generations (DGs) in islanded mode operation of a microgrid (MG). In this strategy, assuming a dynamic slack bus with constant voltage magnitude and phase angle, nonlinear equations of the MG are solved in the slack-voltage-oriented synchronous reference frame, and the instantaneous active and reactive power reference for the slack bus...

the aim of this paper is to design a fractional order sliding mode controllers (fosmc)for a class of dc-dc converters such as boost and buck converters. firstly, the control lawis designed with respect to the properties of fractional calculus, the design yields an equiv-alent control term with an addition of discontinuous (attractive) control law. secondly, themathematical proof of the stabilit...

In this paper, we have exploited the first-order sliding mode control method to track the ECG data of the human heart by three different nonlinear control laws. In order to lessen the intrinsic chattering of the classic sliding mode control system, smooth function approximations of the control input, by means of the hyperbolic tangent and the saturation function, were used. The fast Fourier tra...

A new class of arbitrary-order homogeneous quasi-continuous sliding-mode controllers is proposed, containing numerous functional parameters. All controllers also have robust outputfeedback versions. A numerical procedure is for the first time established for setting the controller parameters. A finite-time stable 5-sliding mode is for the first time demonstrated.
