Justicia adhatoda L. which belongs to the family of Acanthaceae contains alkaloids like vasicine, vasicinone and deoxyvasicine. These alkaloids give the plant its expectorant activity, antispasmodic, antiseptic and antihelmintic properties. Hence, in the present investigation attempts were made to isolate and characterise alkaloids from callus and suspension cultures of J. adhatoda. Alkaloids w...

BACKGROUND The endophytes of medicinal plants, such as Justicia adhatoda L., represent a promising and largely underexplored domain that is considered as a repository of biologically active compounds. OBJECTIVES The aim of present study was isolation, identification, and biological evaluation of endophytic fungi associated with the J. adhatoda L. plant for the production of antimicrobial, ant...

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the anti-arthritic potential of the plant Justicia gendarussa using two different rat models. MATERIALS AND METHOD The anti-arthritic potential of the alcoholic extract of the plant Justicia gendarussa was evaluated using the Freund's adjuvant-induced and collagen-induced arthritic rat models. The rats were treated with the ethanolic extract of Justicia gendarussa and wi...

An ultra-performance liquid chromatography ultra-high-resolution quadrupole-time-of-flight-mass spectrometry (UPLC-UHR-QTOF-MS) metabolite profiling ofxs Justicia gendarussa Burm. f. leaves was performed. PCA and HCA analyses were applied to observe the clustering patterns and inter-sample relationships. It seemed that the concentrations of Ca, P, and Cu in the soil could affect the metabolite ...

a facile and green approach has been developed to synthesize silver nanoparticle (ag-nps). this was carried out by a biosynthetic route using justicia adhatoda root extract as reducing and stabilizing agent. the structure, composition, average particle size (~25 nm) and surface morphology of ag-nps were characterized by the x-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscope and atomic force mi...

Ethanolic and Chloroform extract of leaves of Justicia beddomei were evaluated separately for anthelmintic activity on adult Indian earthworms Pheretima posthuma, using Piperazine citrate as reference standard. The results indicated that ethanolic extract was more potent than the chloroform extract.
