Background: Interferon (IFN) are small proteins that belong to the cytokine family and may interfere with viral infections and some cancers. There are many studies focused on the PEGylated interferon’s bioactivity. In this study, we used solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) to produce new drug formulations, with the aim of reducing costs, increasing effectiveness, and also reducing side effects, an...

Background and Aims: Interferon alpha is an effective cytokine in viral infections, where it has various roles in immune function. The use of this antiviral agent in the treatment of viral infections and even cancers is common, although, the beneficial effects of this antiviral agent in high doses can be associated with side effects that limit its use. In this project, we tried to investigate t...

background: existence of bacterial host cell dna contamination in biopharmaceutical products is a potential risk factor for patients receiving these drugs. hence, the quantity of contamination must be controlled under the regulatory standards. although different methods such as hybridization assays have been employed to determine dna impurities, these methods are labor, intensive and rather exp...

The administration of interferon has improved the antiviral and immunomodulatory abilities piglets, which is conductive to prevention potential diseases or delay appearance clinical symptoms. This study aimed evaluate effects from recombinant interferon-alpha (IFN-α) on daily care piglets. results were compared a Chinese herbal drug that was shown increase serum levels. In addition, routes oral...

The Picornaviridae family comprises a diverse group of small RNA viruses that cause a variety of human and animal diseases. Some of these viruses are known to induce cleavage of components of the innate immune system and to inhibit steps in the interferon pathway that lead to the production of type I interferon. There has been no study of the effect of picornaviral infection on the events that ...

A patient with allergic granulomatous angiitis accompanied by increases in serum interleukin-2 receptor (IL-2R) and interferon-alpha (IFN-alpha) levels is reported. Laboratory findings revealed leukocytosis with eosinophilia and increased serum IgE and IgG. The serum IL-2R and IFN-alpha were increased. The serum immune complex, interferon-beta, -gamma and complements remained at normal levels. ...

Interferons (IFN) have antiviral activity against many viruses, including SARS-CoV-2. A combination of IFN-a2b and the antioxidant taurine is widely used in Russian Federation, its has not been studied before. The aim this study was to determine interferon drugs, with without it. included cytotoxicity assays preparations, when stored according instructions at 2–8°C, after 1 month storage temper...

The response of class I major histocompatibility complex antigen expression to in vitro administration of interferon and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha) was measured using class I major histocompatibility complex-deficient small cell lung cancer cell lines. Significant induction also was observed using gamma interferon (IFN-gamma) alone, whereas TNF-alpha alone yielded only modest induc...

Interferon-alpha (IFN-alpha)-mediated intracellular signaling is initiated by ligand-induced receptor dimerization, tyrosine phosphorylation of the Tyk2 and Jak1 tyrosine kinases, and subsequent phosphorylation of the Stat1 and Stat2 proteins. The IFN-alpha receptor consists of at least two distinct subunits. One subunit, IFNAR1, has low affinity binding for interferon yet is required for signa...

The vesicular stomatitis virus cytopathic effect reduction assay is suitable to quantify polyethylene glycol-alpha interferon 2a (PEG-IFN-alpha 2a) and PEG-IFN-alpha 2b. Human serum and ribavirin did not interfere with the assay. This bioassay was successfully used for assaying PEG-IFN-alpha 2a and PEG-IFN-alpha 2b in serum samples from patients undergoing combination therapy.
