Objective(s):This study dealt with the wet agglomeration process in which a small quantity of binder liquid was added into a suspension of crystals, directly in the stirring vessel where the crystallization took place. The purpose of this investigation was evaluation of the effect of temperature on the agglomeration process in order to gain insight into the mechanism of the formation of the agg...

Chemical agglomeration can reduce the particulates (including PM2.5) concentration emitted from fly ash particulates and the wet flue gas desulfurization (WFGD) system. However, the calcium-based slurries affect the regulation of agglomeration compared to water, in particular, the wettability of the particulates and the viscosity of the calciumbased slurry. The wettability and the viscosity are...
• Granulation growth literature is reviewed to find solutions for size prediction. Two limiting cases granule are found and equations determined. Growth behaviour also derived by including consolidation behaviour. The prediction matches longstanding regime maps strongly. solution includes nucleation, growth, breakage in a continuous solution. Size control granulation of great importance yet oft...
M any of the paper machine runnability problems that are difficult to detect, monitor, and control are caused by hydrophobic particles. These can be, for example, binder-rich particles in coated broke, wood pitch or stickies associated with recycled fiber. The most important characteristic indicating propensity for runnability problems has proven to be the size, or the increase in size, of hydr...
We developed a novel anti-agglomeration method that enables preservation of the vertical alignment of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) during desiccation of wet CNTs by utilizing antisolvent precipitation and sublimation of naphthalene (Nap). Moreover, we succeeded in depositing Pt nanoparticles onto CNTs without collapse of the vertically aligned morphology by this method.
