Speech constitutes much of the communicated information; most other perceived audio signals do not carry nearly as much information. Indeed, much of the non-speech signals maybe classified as ‘noise’ in human communication. The process of separating conversational speech and noise is termed voice activity detection (VAD). This paper describes a new approach to VAD which is based on the Wavelet ...

let be a locally compact non?abelian group and be a compact subgroup of also let be a ?invariant measure on the homogeneous space . in this article, we extend the linear operator as a bounded surjective linear operator for all ?spaces with . as an application of this extension, we show that each frame for determines a frame for and each frame for arises from a frame in via the linear operator .

Voice is the sound produced in a person's larynx and uttered through the mouth, as speech or song. Like finger prints and the iris of the eye the voice of each person is unique. The parameters of a person’s voice differ in pitch, timber and vocal intensity. Hence it can be authentication. In this paper feature extraction methods used are Linear Predictive Coding, Fast Fourier Transform and wave...

As we move in to the future there is a rising demand for high performance, high capacity and high bit rate wireless communication systems to integrate wide variety of communication services such as high-speed data, video and multimedia traffic as well as voice signals. Discrete wavelet transform (DWT) is faster than FFT hence it’s replaced by transform technique for OFDM. This project proposes ...

This paper presents an advanced speaker verification system using wavelet transforms. The conventional signal processing techniques assume the signal to be stationary and are ineffective in recognizing non stationary signals such as voice signals. Voice signals which are more dynamic could be analysed with far better accuracy using wavelet transform. The developed voice verification system is w...

A new method to secure speech communication using the discrete wavelet transforms (DWT) and the fast Fourier transform is presented in this article. In the first phase of the hiding technique, we separate the speech high-frequency components from the low-frequency components using the DWT. In a second phase, we exploit the low-pass spectral proprieties of the speech spectrum to hide another sec...

This chapter presents an oesophageal speech enhancement algorithm. Such an exceptionally special type of voice is due to the laryngectomy undergone by those persons with larynx cancer. An oesophageal voice has extremely low intelligibility. The parameter values characterising the voice go beyond normal levels. This chapter proposes a method to improve its quality, which consists in improving Sh...

In this paper, we present denoising algorithm using wavelet packet transform based on VAD(Voice Activity Detection). For the purpose, the weighting parameter estimation method based on speech dominant indicator and the modified Berouti’s method are suggested. Subjective evaluation shows that the performance of the proposed algorithm with wavelet bases is better than that with Fourier basis.
