A new Vibrio strain, V1B, was isolated from the intestinal tract of the scallop Argopecten purpuratus Strain V1B is closely related to the species Vibrio inhibens BFLP-10, which has been characterized as showing antagonistic activity against pathogenic Vibrio sp.
