Based on First Same As Last (FSAL) technique, an embedded trigonometrically-fitted Two Derivative Runge-Kutta method (TDRK) for the numerical solution of first order Initial Value Problems (IVPs) is developed. Using the trigonometrically-fitting technique, an embedded 5(4) pair explicit fifth-order TDRK method with a “small” principal local truncation error coefficient is derived. The numerical...
in this paper, we present a new two-step trigonometrically fitted symmetric obrechkoff method. the method is based on the symmetric two-step obrechkoff method, with eighth algebraic order, high phase-lag order and is constructed to solve ivps with periodic solutions such as orbital problems. we compare the new method to some recently constructed optimized methods from the literature. the numeri...
ABSTRACT A continuous Trigonometrically-fitted Second Derivative Method (CTSDM) whose coefficients depend on the frequency and stepsize is constructed using trigonometric basis functions. A discrete Trigonometrically-fitted second derivative method (TSDM) is recovered from the CTSDM as a by-product and applied to solve initial value problems (IVPs) with oscillating solutions. We discuss the sta...
In this paper, an improved trigonometrically fitted zero-dissipative explicit two-step hybrid method with fifth algebraic order is derived. The method is applied to several problems which solutions are oscillatory in nature. Numerical results obtained are compared with existing methods in the scientific literature. The comparison shows that the new method is more effective and efficient than th...
This paper provides a four-stage Trigonometrically Fitted Improved Runge-Kutta (TFIRK4) method of four orders to solve oscillatory problems, which contains an character in the solutions. Compared traditional method, (IRK) is natural two-step requiring fewer steps. The suggested extends fourth-order (IRK4) with trigonometric calculations. approach intended integrate problems particular initial v...
In this work we consider symplectic Runge Kutta Nyström (SRKN) methods with three stages. We construct a fourth order SRKN with constant coefficients and a trigonometrically fitted SRKN method. We apply the new methods on the two-dimentional harmonic oscillator, the Stiefel-Bettis problem and on the computation of the eigenvalues of the Schrödinger equation.
The connection between closed Newton-Cotes, trigonometrically-fitted differential methods and symplectic integrators is investigated in this paper. It is known from the literature that several one step symplectic integrators have been obtained based on symplectic geometry. However, the investigation of multistep symplectic integrators is very poor. Zhu et al. (1996) presented the well known ope...
A family of K-step Trigonometrically-fitted Block Falkner Methods is considered for the direct solution second order Oscillatory Initial value problems. As unique to methods, two main formulas (one method and one derivative) each k-step some additional formulas. This shall be adapted general oscillatory ordinary differential equations via multistep collocation technique. The idea employed in th...
We present an improved version of the spline curve defined by H.-J. Wenz (1996) for the interpolation of 2D curve data. This trigonometrically blended spline is curvature continuous, interpolates 3D curve data, and is generated by convex combinations of circular arcs and straight line segments. As an application we show a method for rounding off the vertices of spatial polygonal lines and gener...
