A new Fault Tolerant Controller (FTC) has been presented in this research by integrating a Fault Detection and Diagnosis (FDD) mechanism in a nonlinear model predictive controller framework. The proposed FDD utilizes a Multi-Sensor Data Fusion (MSDF) methodology to enhance its reliability and estimation accuracy. An augmented state-vector model is developed to incorporate the occurred senso...

A fault-tolerant control scheme (FTCS) was developed for a novel mechatronic track switch the first time. The FTCS and tested on simulation model of system, before being applied to an experimental actuation system in laboratory. Both results show that this works as expected allows continue operating desired under sensor failure, preventing damage switch.

In this paper, the controller synthesis problem for fault tolerant control systems (FTCS) with stochastic stability and H2 performance is studied. The system faults of random nature are modeled by a Markov chain. Because the real system fault modes are not directly accessible in the context of FTCS, the controller is reconfigured based on the output of a Fault Detection and Identification (FDI)...

A Fault Tolerant Control System (FTCS) model subject to random faults and saturation in actuators is developed. Actuators are assumed to have non-linear saturation characteristics, they operate linearly within their limits and saturate to fixed levels if any limit is exceeded. This paper derives sufficient conditions for the exponential stability in the mean square for a FTCS with saturated act...

To design fault tolerant control systems (FTCS), one of the important issues to consider is whether to recover the original system performance/functionality completely or to accept some degree of performance degradation after occurrence of a fault. What are the consequences if the performance degradation is not taken into consideration and how to take such performance degradation into account i...

This paper discusses open-circuit fault (OCF) diagnosis and fault-tolerant control strategy (FTCS) of a nonisolated DC-DC converter. The photovoltaic power conversion structure (PPCS) consists generator an interleaved Boost converter (IBC). maximum point tracking (MPPT) the IBC ensures operation at power. design nonlinear Backstepping is detailed based on equivalent average model IBC, stability...

In this paper, a bibliographical review on reconfigurable (active) fault-tolerant control systems (FTCS) is presented. The existing approaches to fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) and fault-tolerant control (FTC) in a general framework of active fault-tolerant control systems (AFTCS) are considered and classified according to different criteria such as design methodologies and applications. A...

A new dynamical model is developed here to study the stochastic stability of Fault Tolerant Control Systems (FTCS) with multiple failure processes. In particular, two independent failure processes with Markovian characteristics are considered: one for plant component failures and the other for actuator failures. In this model, the Fault Detection and Isolation (FDI) process is also formulated a...

For sequential jumps detection, isolation, and estimation in discrete-time stochastic linear systems, Willsky and Jones (1976) have developed the Generalized Likelihood Ratio (GLR) test. After each detection and isolation of one jump, the treatment of another possible jump is obtained by a direct state estimate and covariance incrementation of the Kalman filter originally designed on the jump-f...
