background protein a is the virulence factors of staphylococcus aureus rolling in its pathogenesis, and its gene is used for typing. polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (pcr-rflp) with different enzymes has been used for this action. objectives in this study, we used bsp143i enzyme for digestion of the gene, coding protein a (spa gene) in s. aureus. the bacteria w...
background: staphylococcus aureus, the major virulence factor of hospital and community acquired infections, secretes numerous exotoxins (super antigens), which may affect immunological and inflammatory status in psoriatic skin lesion. objectives: this study is designed to compare the s. aureus super antigens level in sera of psoriatic patients with normal cases (nevus). patients and methods: a...
Background: Staphylococcal protein A (SPA) is a cell wall component of Staphylococcus aureus that binds to different IgG subclasses of human and several animal species. This bacterial protein can be used as an antibody detector in various immunological assays or as an isolation reagent for the purification of antibody molecules via immuno-chromatography procedures. Objectives: Molecular cl...
Introduction: Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) is a bacterium found on the skin and hair of people and animals. S. aureus could product some extracellular protein. Materials and methods: One hundred and fifty S. aureus isolates that were collected from different resources were screened for the mecA, tst-1, eta and etb genes by PCR. 50 isolates were selected from human staphylococcal isolates ...

Systematic analysis of the statistical and dynamical properties of proteins is critical to understanding cellular events. Extraction of biologically relevant information from a set of high-resolution structures is important because it can provide mechanistic details behind the functional properties of protein families, enabling rational comparison between families. Most of the current structura...
The production of erythropoietin by rats fed a protein-deficient diet is markedly decreased. This defect can be rapidly reversed by feeding protein. In the reported experiments we investigated the effect of protein deficiency on the extra-renal production of erythropoietin. The results indicate that the production of erythropoietin in nephrectomized animals is insensitive to protein depletion.
Protein folding is a relatively fast process considering the astronomical number of conformations in which a protein could find itself. Within the framework of a lattice model, we show that one can design rapidly folding sequences by assigning the strongest attractive couplings to the contacts present in a target native state. Our protein design can be extended to situations with both attractiv...
We describe and solve a discrete persistent-chain model of protein binding on DNA, involving an extra σ(i) at a site i of the DNA. This variable takes the value 1 or 0, depending on whether or not the site is occupied by a protein. In addition, if the site is occupied by a protein, there is an extra energy cost ɛ. For a small force, we obtain analytic expressions for the force-extension curve a...
