During the investigation of fungi associated with black (sooty) head mold of wheat and barley in different regions of Golestan, Alborz and Qazvin provinces (Iran) in growing seasons of 2014–15, several isolates with typical characteristics of the genus Harzia Costantin were collected. Based on the morphological characteristics, all isolates were identified as H. acremonioides (Harz) Costantin.
