We used spectroradiometry to rapidly and nondestructively predict the nicotine content in fluecured tobacco leaves and obtained hyperspectral images of tobacco leaves during the squaring development stage at field conditions. We tested the nicotine content in the lab and analyzed correlations between 28 hyperspectral characteristic parameters and the nicotine content of tobacco leaves to establ...

Semi-definite relaxation (SDR) has been shown to have the capability of approaching maximum-likelihood (ML) performance. In this work, we first develop a new SDR-based detector that jointly uses forward error correction (FEC) code information in the detection stage. The joint SDR detector substantially improves overall receiver performance by generating highly reliable information to downstream...

This paper describes the 1997 TREC-6 Spoken Document Retrieval (SDR) Track which implemented a first evaluation of retrieval of broadcast news excerpts using a combination of automatic speech recognition and information retrieval technologies. The motivations behind the SDR Track and background regarding its development and implementation are discussed. The SDR evaluation collection and topics ...

This study is a comparative analysis and meta-analysis of three randomized clinical trials. Children with spastic diplegia received either 'selective' dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) plus physiotherapy (SDR+PT) or PT without SDR (PT-only). Common outcome measures were used for spasticity (Ashworth scale) and function (Gross Motor Function Measure [GMFM]). Baseline and 9- to 12-month outcome data were po...

Abstract. In this note, a new concept called SDR-matrix is proposed, which is an infinite lower triangular matrix obeying the generalized rule of David star. Some basic properties of SDR-matrices are discussed and two conjectures on SDR-matrices are presented, one of which states that if a matrix is a SDR-matrix, then so is its matrix inverse (if exists).

BACKGROUND Selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) is a surgical method used to treat childhood spastic cerebral palsy (CP). However, the effects of early SDR on functional outcomes and quality of life decades later in adulthood remains to be elucidated. OBJECTIVES To evaluate the long-term outcomes in terms of satisfaction and mobility of adult patients who received childhood SDR. METHODS Adult p...

Sufficient dimension reduction (sdr) is an effective tool for reducing highdimensional predictor spaces in regression problems. sdr achieves dimension reduction without loss of any regression information and without the need to assume any particular parametric form of a model. This is particularly useful for high-dimensional applications such as data mining, marketing, and bioinformatics. Howev...

This paper discusses a novel architecture for a Hybrid Fiber Radio (HFR) access network using Software Defined Radio (SDR) in a combined Base Station (BS) headend unit. While most of the current SDR approaches consider software radio to be used in the portable terminals to allow multi-mode operation, we propose a SDR-HFR based access network architecture. The combination of HFR and SDR allows s...

Socially desirable responding (SDR) has been widely studied with regards to personality assessment due to fears it may attenuate the predictive validity of decisions made using such assessments (e.g., in personnel selection). A number of scales have been employed to assess individual differences in response distortion. We expand the nomological net for a popular measure of social desirability –...
