One of the challenges in the printing industry is the presence of extra lines in printing design. This problem is due to the improper surface roughness of carved cylinders. This research endeavors to specify and optimize the effective parameters on the surface roughness of chrome coated printing cylinders in the finishing process that is done using a finish star machine. Investigated parameters...

Geometric imperfection, known as a detrimental effect on the buckling load of cylindrical shells, has a new role under the emerging trend of using buckling for smart purposes. Eigenshape-based geometries were designed on the shell surface with the aim of tailoring the postbuckling response. Fourteen seeded geometric imperfection (SGI) cylinders were fabricated using polymer-based 3D printing, a...

This in-vitro study aimed to evaluate the influence of printing orientation on parallelism, distance, and thickness between adjacent cylinders 3D-printed surgical guides. CAD software was used design a guide with two parallel (reference); saved as standard tessellation (STL) 63 samples were printed using three different orientations (0, 45, 90 degrees). A metrology digital microscope measure an...

Additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, is a promising manufacturing technique marred by product deformation due to material solidification in the printing process. Control of printed product deformation can be achieved by a compensation plan. However, little attention has been paid to interference in compensation, which is thought to result from the inevitable discretization of a compensation ...

We report hydrogen storage at an ordinary pressure due to a bottle-neck effect of an ultramicroporous crystal. Stored hydrogen was kept at an ordinary pressure below -110 °C. The amounts of stored hydrogen gas linearly correlated with the initial pressures. These phenomena suggested the ultramicroporous tunnels worked as a molecular gas cylinder.

This work aims to shape a hollow cylinder with geopolymer and an additive manufacturing process (3D printing) without organic additives. The formulation of composite using only mineral parts is proposed the parameters 3D printing were optimized. mechanical properties, microstructure, adhesion layers material analysed compared literature. results showed that could be printed addition small ratio...

Three-dimensional (3D) printing technology has revolutionized tissue engineering field because of its excellent potential of accurately positioning cell-laden constructs. One of the main challenges in the formation of functional engineered tissues is the lack of an efficient and extensive network of microvessels to support cell viability. By printing vascular cells and appropriate biomaterials,...
