cell in biological studies. The studies showed the good response of human sperm to cryobiologic assays. However, in farm animals because of different composition of the cell membrane and presence of more unsaturated fatty acid make sperm more sensitive to oxidative stress that is one the most important factors that can affect the sperm viability during cryopreservation. The aim of the present s...

The mechanical behavior of compressible clay soils may be strongly influenced by physicochemical effects when concentrated pore fluids are introduced to the soil. Conceptual models have been used to explain the influence of pore fluid chemistry on the mechanical behavior of clays in a qualitative way. In this paper an alternate macroscopic description of the osmotic volume change behavior of a ...

in this research, the effect of ultrasound-osmotic dehydration process in different conditions on the drying kinetics parameters of rhubarb was investigated. before dying process, rhubarb samples were placed in contact of ultrasound-osmotic pretreatment and then dried by convection hot air dryer equipped with circulated fan. the results showed that using osmotic pretreatment at 40% sucrose solu...

Osmotic laxatives produce the best results. Fiber and behavior modification may have a role. Increased fiber and behavior modification are the most often recommended first steps in managing chronic functional constipation (CFC) in children, but only limited evidence supports this approach. For pharmacologic management, the best evidence supports osmotic laxatives.

Among protoplasts released from cells of Bacillus megaterium grown at 20, 30, or 37 C, osmotic swelling in NaCl solution at a given external osmotic pressure was greatest for protoplasts from cells grown at 20 C and least for protoplasts from cells grown at 37 C. Protoplasts from cells grown at lower temperaturs were also less stable to osmotic shock and lysed at higher external osmotic pressur...
