Two-loop Gell-Mann–Low function of N=1 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory, regularized by higher covariant derivatives. Abstract Two-loop Gell-Mann–Low function is calculated for N=1 supersymmetric Yang– Mills theory, regularized by higher covariant derivatives. The integrals, which define it, are shown to be reduced to total derivatives and can be easily calculated analytically .

A stratification of a set, e.g. an analytic variety, is, roughly, a partition of it into manifolds so that these manifolds fit together “regularly”. Stratification theory was originated by Thom and Whitney for algebraic and analytic sets. It was one of the key ingredients in Mather’s proof of the topological stability theorem [Ma] (see [GM] and [PW] for the history and further applications of s...

In a mathematical approach to hypothesis tests, we start with a clearly defined set of hypotheses and choose the test with the best properties for those hypotheses. In practice, we often start with less precise hypotheses. For example, often a researcher wants to know which of two groups generally has the larger responses, and either a t-test or a Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney (WMW) test could be accep...

This paper describes the use of a microsphere sensor technology that allows simple fabrication of vapor sensor arrays with reproducible response patterns. Microsphere sensor fabrication protocols are uncomplicated and yield billions of highly reproducible sensors. Microsphere sensor arrays combined with a generalized Whitney-Mann-Wilcoxen (GWMW) classifier were used to discriminate between the ...

In this paper, we propose two regularization approaches for the Boltz-mann collision operator. The constructed operators preserve the mass, momentum and energy; their equilibrium states are Maxwellians and they satisfy the H theorem. In the rst approach, the regularization consists in allowing microscopic collisions which do not exactly preserve energy and momentum. However, the limit of the mo...

Increased emphasis on aircraft inspection to ensure aviation safety has resulted in the need for a better trained workforce of aircraft maintenance personnel. As almost 90% of inspection is visual in nature, it has led to the development of computer simulators to train human inspectors performing the inspection task. However, the lack of immersion and interaction has led to limited effectivenes...

In this paper we show Whitney’s fibering conjecture in the real and complex, local analytic and global algebraic cases. For a given germ of complex or real analytic set, we show the existence of a stratification satisfying a strong (real arc-analytic with respect to all variables and analytic with respect to the parameter space) trivialization property along each stratum. We call such a trivial...

There are so many excellent review papers describing the principles of C o m p t o n spectrometry that they may be considered almost as a bible for anyone wishing to work in this field. Here I want to quote the book edited by Williams [1], papers by Coope r [2 -4 ] and more recent papers of Mann inen [5] and Sharma [6]. The use of circularly polarized synchrot ron radiat ion to so-called magnet...

A new nonparametric test for two sample problem based on order statistics is suggested. This test can be successful in the case of small samples. The probabilities of the statistic are given. Comparisons with KolmogorovSmirnov, Mann Whitney-Wilcoxon, and Wilks’ empty block test for small sample sizes are made by the simulation.
