Introduction: Worldwide, one of the important causes of childhood hospitalization is diarrhea, with rotavirus being commonly implicated. ELISA is usually used to diagnose the rotavirus infection in microbiology laboratory. It is time consuming and requires sophisticated equipments. We have compared a rapid Immunochromatography test with ELISA in our study. Aim and objective: To detect the prese...
Canine parvovirus type 2 (CPV-2) is the main etiological agent of viral enteritis in dogs. Actually in literature, CPV-2 has been reported with clinical signs that vary from the classical disease, and immunochromatography test and PCR technique have been introduced to veterinary hospitals to confirm CPV-2 diagnosis and other infections. However, the reliability of these techniques has been poor...
BACKGROUND The occurrence of Giardia duodenalis in cats is of potential significance from both clinical and public health perspectives. The object of this study was antigenic detection of G. duodenalis in household cats of Ahvaz district, South-West of Iran. METHODS The prevalence of G. duodenalis was determined in fecal samples by two techniques: centrifugation-flotation and a commercial Gia...
During the 2016-17 winter season in Japan, human norovirus GII.P16-GII.2 strains (2016 strains) caused large outbreaks of acute gastroenteritis. Phylogenetic analyses suggested that the 2016 strains derived from the GII.2 strains detected during 2010-12. Immunochromatography between 2016 strains and the pre-2016 GII.2 strains showed similar reactivity.
this study was performed to determine the prevalence of canine parvovirus (cpv) in dogs referred to veterinary hospital of ahvaz, khouzestan province, iran. fecal samples were collected from 78 diarrheic dogs between 2005 and 2007. the dogs were divided into two age groups (< 6 months and > 6 months), four different breeds (terriers, germanshepherds, doberman pinschers and mixed) and another tw...
leishmaniasis is an important and common zoonotic disease with a great impact on public health. in the present study, a total of 195 companion cats of different ages were examined for serum antibody detection against leishmania infantum by immunochromatography assay. the cats were selected from those referring to veterinary hospital of ahvaz university, south west of iran from may 2009 to march...
The regulatory standards require that the identification of live plague vaccines and liquid tularaemia allergen (Tularin) should be performed by immunofluorescence. A major drawback recommended method is its labour intensive nature. However, immunochromatography represents an alternative offers a number advantages, including rapid testing easy result interpretation. aim study was to assess appl...
Serodiagnosis of plague is very useful for its retrospective confirmation and for epidemiologic studies in humans and in rodents, since rats constitute the main natural reservoir of Yersinia pestis. We have developed a rapid test for the detection of IgG antibodies to fraction 1 (F1) based on immunochromatography and protein A to detect both human and rat IgG. When tested with reference human s...
Detection of circulating filarial antigen has now emerged as an alternative method for the diagnosis of bancroftian filariasis. We compared two antigen detection assays, an Og4C3 ELISA and an ICT (immunochromatography) Filariasis test, for the diagnosis of Wuchereria bancrofti infections in migrant Myanmar workers in Tak province, Western Thailand. A total of 337 Myanmars participated in this s...
