We introduce a new class of Green-Naghdi type models for the propagation of internal waves between two (1 + 1)-dimensional layers of homogeneous, immiscible, ideal, incompressible, irrotational fluids, vertically delimited by a flat bottom and a rigid lid. These models are tailored to improve the frequency dispersion of the original bi-layer Green-Naghdi model, and in particular to manage high-...

In this paper, we consider a one-dimensional fully nonlinear weakly dispersive Green-Naghdi model for shallow water waves over variable bottom topographies. Such model describes a large spectrum of shallow water waves, and it is thus of great importance to design accurate and robust numerical methods for solving it. The governing equations contain mixed spatial and temporal derivatives of the u...

Vertical averaging of the three dimensional incompressible Euler equations leads to several reduced dimension models of ow over topography, including the one-layer and two-layer classic shallow water equations, and the one-layer and two-layer nonhydrostatic Green-Naghdi equations. These equations are derived and their well-posedness is discussed. Several implicit and explicit nite diierence app...

the three-phase-lag model and green–naghdi theory without energy dissipation are employed to study the deformation of a two-temperature fiber-reinforced medium with an internal heat source that is moving with a constant speed under a hydrostatic initial stress and the gravity field.  the modulus of the elasticity is given as a linear function of the reference temperature. the exact expressions ...

The present paper is devoted to the determination of displacement, stresses and temperature from three dimensional anisotropic half spaces due to presence of heat source. The normal mode analysis technique has been used to the basic equations of motion and generalized heat conduction equation proposed by Green-Naghdi model-II [1]. The resulting equation are written in the form of a vector –matr...

In this paper, we present an original derivation process of a nonhydrostatic shallow water-type model which aims at approximating the incompressible Euler and Navier-Stokes systems with free surface. The closure relations are obtained by a minimal energy constraint instead of an asymptotic expansion. The model slightly differs from the well-known Green-Naghdi model and is confronted with statio...

We consider here the 1D Green-Naghdi equations that are commonly used in coastal oceanography to describe the propagation of large amplitude surface waves. We show that the solution of the Green-Naghdi equations can be constructed by a standard Picard iterative scheme so that there is no loss of regularity of the solution with respect to the initial condition.

We are interested in asymptotic models for the propagation of internal waves at the interface between two shallow layers of immiscible fluid, under the rigid-lid assumption. We review and complete existing works in the literature, in order to offer a unified and comprehensive exposition. Anterior models such as the shallow water and Boussinesq systems, as well as unidirectional models of Camass...

We derive here a variant of the 2D Green-Naghdi equations that model the propagation of two-directional, nonlinear dispersive waves in shallow water. This new model has the same accuracy as the standard 2D GreenNaghdi equations. Its mathematical interest is that it allows a control of the rotational part of the (vertically averaged) horizontal velocity, which is not the case for the usual Green...

A study is made of the propagation of time-harmonic plane thermoelastic waves of assigned frequency in an infinite rotating medium using Green-Naghdi model (1993) of linear thermoelasticity without energy dissipation. A more general dispersion equation is derived to examine the effect of rotation on the phase velocity of the modified coupled thermal dilatational shear waves. It is observed that...
